1. Pot
Holder
If you are using
a can without a handle, a pair of pliers or vice grip tends to
work ok.
2. Wick Cutters
When you're just
starting out, a pair of sharp scissors works ok, but to get a
smooth cut, you'll want to buy a nice set of wick cutters.
3. Thermometer
This is an
absolute necessity. A candy thermometer works fine.
Any thermometer that will clip to the side of the boiler will be
ok.
4. Wooden Utensils
To stir and tend to the heating wax.
5. Vegeatble Oil
You'll need this to spray or spread on
the inside of the mold. It makes the wax release the mold
after cooling.
6. Double Boiler
Doesn't have to be fancy. One
smaller pot inside one larger pot will usually work ok.
Commercial boilers are the best, however.
7. Dowel or Ice Pick
You'll need something like this to
bore relief holes in the drying wax.
8. Candle Molds
